Install and update
Add, update, test and remove apps in the MIRA iPhone app.
Apps you build live under Your Apps, below the apps that come with MIRA.
Add an app
Create
Tap Apps, scroll to Build a Mira App and tap Create.
Upload or paste
Tap Upload and choose your HTML file, or copy its contents and tap Paste. The title fills in from the file. Pick an icon for the app’s card.
Check and add
Tap Check code. When it says Package checks passed, tap Add.
Install
With your glasses connected, tap Install on the app’s card. MIRA sends the app to your glasses and opens it.
The card button
| Button | Means |
|---|---|
| Install | The app isn’t on your glasses yet. Tapping it installs and opens the app. |
| Open | The app is installed. Tapping it opens the app on your glasses. |
| Close | The app is running. Tapping it closes the app. |
| Update | The version on your phone differs from the one on your glasses. Tapping it installs the phone’s version and returns the glasses to Home. |
Tap the card itself to bring up the app’s phone screen.
Update an app
- Long-press the app’s card and tap Edit App.
- Tap Upload, choose the new file and tap Save.
- Tap Update, then Open.
Keep the app’s name the same from version to version. See Naming.
Delete an app
Long-press the app’s card and tap Delete app. MIRA removes it from your glasses and your phone.
If your glasses run out of room for apps, MIRA lists the apps on them with their sizes so you can delete some and try again.
On your glasses
Installed apps stay on your glasses, through phone disconnects and restarts. Double tap to open the sidebar, swipe to choose an app and tap to open it.
Test on your glasses
Before you call an app done, try these on your glasses:
- It starts cleanly and draws its first screen.
- Its main interaction works with taps and swipes.
- Messages between the phone screen and the glasses arrive, if your app uses them.
- Double tap opens the sidebar, and you can get back Home.
- If it shows captions, spoken words appear on the display.
Share an app
To share an app, send the HTML file. Whoever receives it adds it the same way. Ask them to review it first, and read Safety and privacy before you install apps from other people.
