Get Started
What’s in the box
Unbox your glasses and find the accessories.
Open the box and take out the glasses case. The instruction manual is in the box too.
Find the holder with the extra nose pads, the microfiber cloth and the charging cable.
Open the case. Your glasses are inside.
Peel the plastic covers off both lenses.
Charge your glasses
Connect the charger and check the charging light.
Connect the charger to the USB-C cable.
Line the other end of the charger up with the charging pins on the glasses and connect it.
A red light comes on when the glasses are charging.
Meet the MIRA Ring
Unbox the ring and learn how to wear it.
Open the ring box. The ring sits in the middle. Take it out and remove the plastic cover.
Find the black touchpad. It’s where you tap, double-tap, hold and swipe.
Wear the ring on your index finger with the black pad facing your thumb, so you can swipe, tap, double-tap and hold with your thumb. It’s the most discreet way to control your glasses.
Tour of the glasses
Find the buttons, charging pins and speakers, and adjust the fit.
On the glasses you’ll find the charging light, the power button, the charging pins and the speakers.
Remove or adjust the nose bridge
- A nose bridge comes attached. To remove it, hold its base and pull firmly. A little wiggle helps.
- To change how the glasses sit on your face, and where the displays appear, push or pull the nose bridge pads.
Turn the glasses on and off
Turn the display on and off, shut down and power on.
Turn the display on or off
Press the power button on the right side of the glasses to turn the display off, and press it again to turn it back on. It works like the power button on your phone: press it for the display, hold it to shut down.
Shut down
Hold the power button until the shutdown screen appears.
Slide to shut down, or double-tap the touch bar to cancel.
The screen goes blank and the glasses show as disconnected in the app.
Turn on
Press and hold the same power button until the MIRA logo appears. It can take 5 to 10 seconds, then the home screen comes back.
Set Up
Download the app and pair your glasses
Install the MIRA app, sign in and connect your glasses.
Download the app and sign in
Open the App Store, search for MIRA glasses and download the app. It should be the first result. You can also open it in the App Store.
Open the app and check I accept the Terms of Service, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy.
Tap Sign in with Apple and sign in with your Apple Account. Use Face ID, or enter your password if asked.
Tap Set up your Mira.
Allow location and contacts
On Mira needs a couple of things, turn on Location and Contacts. When iPhone asks about your contacts, share all of them, so MIRA can call and text people for you.
Tap Continue.
If you see Allow background location, tap Open Settings, set Location to Always and turn on Precise Location. This lets you ask questions while your phone is in your pocket or the app is in the background.
Connect your glasses
Keep your glasses close. Press and hold the glasses’ power button for 3 seconds to make sure they’re on, then tap Connect glasses. The glasses show “Bluetooth disconnected. Please check on your phone.”
When Finding Accessories shows your Mira Glasses, tap Set Up.
When Confirm Code appears, tap Confirm.
When it says Accessory Paired, tap Done.
Tap Allow so your glasses can show your iPhone notifications.
Update the firmware
Install the latest software on your glasses.
Right after pairing, the app shows Update your Mira with the firmware version on your glasses and the latest one.
Tap Update Now. It takes about 10 minutes. You can close the app while the firmware updates.
The update is done when you see four check marks.
On the app’s home screen, the glasses icon in the top left shows a green dot when your glasses are connected. The ring icon next to it works the same way.
Check for updates later
Tapped Skip for now, or want to check for a new version? Tap the glasses icon, open Advanced Settings and tap Check for Updates. Start the update from there.
Pair the ring
Connect the MIRA Ring from the top menu of the app.
In the top menu of the app, next to the glasses icon, tap the ring icon. It has a red dot until the ring is paired.
Under Which ring do you have?, tap Silver Ring or Black Ring.
The app starts looking for your ring. Give it 15 to 30 seconds. When it shows up under Nearby Rings, tap it to connect.
When the glasses icon and the ring icon both show green dots, you’re paired.
Ring not showing up? See Troubleshooting.

Start and end a session
Start and stop sessions from the phone, the glasses or the ring.
A session is how you use MIRA’s AI, and how MIRA transcribes and takes notes for you during your conversations. Once your glasses and ring are paired, you can start and stop a session from the phone, the glasses or the ring.
From the phone
Tap Listen in the bottom right.
An audio waveform shows that MIRA is hearing the glasses’ microphone, and what you say appears as you talk.
Tap the same button to end the session. It’s saved under the book icon in the top menu. See Find, share and delete sessions.
From the glasses
Tap the touch bar on the right side, on Listen.
The bottom menu changes to Answer, Highlight and Fact Check. That means the skills are on and the session is running.
Swipe to move between the buttons. To end the session, tap Listen again.
From the ring
It works the same way on the ring: swipe and tap on the black touchpad. Tap Listen again to end the session from the ring.
Skills: Answer, Highlight and Fact Check
Mark important moments and get answers during a session.
While a session is running, the bottom menu on your glasses shows three skills: Answer, Highlight and Fact Check.
Highlight
Swipe to Highlight. On the Silver Ring, swipe down on the black touchpad.
When something important happens, tap Highlight.
A pop-up says “Got it, I’ll remember that.” The moment shows up in the Highlights tab of your sessions later.
Answer
Say your question out loud during the session, for example “I wonder what the tallest building in the world is.”
Tap Answer. MIRA answers the most recent question it heard in the session.
You’ll see it thinking, then the answer shows up right in your glasses.
Fact Check
Tap Fact Check right after a claim is made in the conversation. MIRA checks the last claim it heard and tells you whether it’s true, false or unclear, with a short reason.
Ask MIRA
Use the AI with “Hey Mira”, the ring or the app, and add files.
MIRA’s AI can use your tools, integrations and memories in one place. Ask about something you did, or ask it to change a calendar invite, send an email or a text, or call someone, all with your voice. There are three ways to ask:
- Say “Hey Mira” while a session is running.
- Press and hold the ring’s touchpad.
- Type your question in the app.
Say “Hey Mira”
Start a session by tapping Listen.
Say “Hey Mira”. The Listening pop-up appears.
Ask your question, for example “Hey Mira, what’s the weather where I am right now?”
The answer shows up in your glasses. Some answers are rich outputs, laid out for the glasses. The weather shows the current high and low, wind, humidity and more.
Tap Explore More for details, or Dismiss when you’re done.
MIRA can also say its answers out loud, so it feels like talking to an assistant. You can turn this off with AI Talks Aloud.
Hold the ring
Rather not talk out loud? Press and hold the ring’s black touchpad, ask your question, then let go to send it to MIRA.
Type in the app
Type your question in the app and send it. MIRA shows what it’s doing and gives you the answer in your glasses and in the app.
Add files to a session
Add documents to your session so MIRA can use them when you ask questions.
Tap the paperclip next to Ask Mira anything.
Tap + and pick Files, Camera or Photos.
Choose your file. It shows up under In this chat with a check mark. Tap Close.
Ask about it, for example “Hey Mira, can you summarize this file for me?”
Notifications dashboard
Look up to see your notifications.
Look up and give it a moment. The notifications dashboard appears in your glasses.
To go back, hold your head normally again. You’ll see the session view return.
Find, share and delete sessions
Search your sessions, share a public link or delete one.
Find a session
- Tap the book icon in the top menu. Memory lists your sessions.
- Switch between Conversations and Highlights. Highlights are the important moments you marked.
- Use Search memories to find a keyword, like “DoorDash”. Results show the most recent first.
Share a session
Tap the book icon and pick a session to open Session Details.
Tap the share button, then Create Public Link. To save a copy instead, tap Export File.
The public link is copied automatically. Open it in a browser, text it to someone, or paste it anywhere.
Delete a session
Tap the book icon and find the session you want to delete.
Press and hold it, then tap the trash icon.
Tap Delete to confirm. This permanently deletes the conversation and its messages.
Apps and Settings
Connect email, calendar, iMessage and calls
Let MIRA read your email and calendar, text and call for you.
Tap Apps in the top right of the MIRA app. Your accounts are under Connections.
Email and calendar
Under Connections, tap Google.
Sign in with your Google account. This connects Gmail and Google Calendar, and the app shows Connected.
Try it: start a session and say “Hey Mira, send an email to Cain saying hello.” MIRA finds the contact, writes the email and asks you to confirm before it’s sent. Tap Send.
iMessage
Under Connections, tap iMessage and turn it on.
Set up the shortcut the app walks you through.
Confirm that you’ve turned on the automation.
iMessage shows Connected.
Phone calls
Under Connections, connect Phone calls so MIRA can use your contacts and call people for you.
You can also take calls on your glasses: slide on the touch bar to answer, and long-press to hang up.
Brightness, volume and audio
Adjust the displays and choose where audio plays.
Brightness
Open the app, tap the glasses icon and drag the slider. You’ll see the change in the displays right away.
Volume
Use your phone’s volume buttons, the same way you would with AirPods.
Choose where audio plays
If music or other audio from your phone is playing through the glasses and you want to switch it:
Open Control Center and go to the music controls.
Tap the audio output button and pick a device: the glasses’ speakers, your iPhone speaker or your AirPods.
Advanced settings
Sleep timeout, sound effects, spoken answers and updates.
Tap the glasses icon in the app and open Advanced Settings.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sleep Timeout | How long the displays stay on after you turn them on. |
| Sound Effects | Turn off the sounds the glasses play when you swipe and tap. |
| AI Talks Aloud | Turn off spoken AI answers. |
| Notifications | Turn notifications on or off. |
| Check for Updates | Make sure your glasses and app are up to date. |
Keep the display off
The glasses keep working with the display off. Turn the display off during a session (press the power button) and keep talking: when you turn it back on, everything you said is there. Leave it off if you don’t want text showing, or want it less visible to the people around you.
“Hey Mira” turns the display back on by itself, so you can still ask a question while it’s off.
Install and open tools
Install tools like Maps, open them from your glasses or by voice, get directions and exit.
Tools are apps for your glasses, like Maps and Teleprompter. Find them under Tools on the Apps screen.
Install a tool
Tap Apps and scroll to Tools.
Tap Install next to Maps. You’ll see “Installing Maps”, then it opens on your glasses automatically.
Open an app from your glasses
Double-tap the touch bar on the side of the glasses, or the black touchpad on the ring. Swipe through the menu, then tap the app you want. The triangle cursor shows which app is selected.
Open tools with your voice
Start a session and say “Hey Mira, open Maps.” Once it opens, tell it where you want to go.
Get directions with Maps
With Maps open, say where you want to go, for example “Take me to Salesforce Park.”
Choose the place. Turn-by-turn directions show up in your glasses, with your arrival time at the bottom.
As you move your head, the arrow on the map turns with you.
To end a trip, double-tap the ring or the side of the glasses, then tap End trip.
Exit a tool
Double-tap the touch bar on the side of the glasses. MIRA is selected automatically and takes you back to the home screen, with your session, the transcript and the Listen button.
Teleprompter
Read your script in your glasses as you speak.
Open Teleprompter on your glasses: double-tap the touch bar or the ring’s touchpad, swipe to Teleprompter and tap it (see Open an app from your glasses). Or in the app, tap Apps, scroll to Teleprompter under Tools and tap Open.
Your glasses show your teleprompter text.
Start talking. The teleprompter follows along as you speak and scrolls by itself, so you always know where you are.
Translate
See live translations in your glasses, in one or both directions.
Tap Apps. Under Speech, tap Configure next to Translate.
Pick the languages. Translate from is set to Auto detect and Translate to is English. To change one, tap it, search for the language you want, for example Portuguese, and pick it.
Tap Done, then start a session. When someone speaks the other language, you’ll see the translation in your glasses. You can also tap Start Session to Translate.
Two-way translation
In the Translate settings, under Advanced Settings, turn on Show to Partner. When you speak, your words show up full screen on your phone in their language. When they speak, the translation shows up on your glasses.
Speaker ID
Teach MIRA who is talking.
Enroll a voice
Tap Apps and open Speaker Identify under Speech.
Tap Enroll new speaker.
Start transcription and have the person read the passage on the screen out loud. The app builds their voice profile as they read.
Name a new voice
When MIRA hears a voice it doesn’t recognize, a notification pops up at the top of your glasses. You’ll get a pop-up on your phone too.
Open the app, type their name and tap Save. MIRA will recognize them in future conversations.
Missed the pop-up? Unknown speakers wait at the top of the list, above your enrolled speakers. Open one, read what they said and add their name afterwards.
Go Further
MIRA desktop app
Get your sessions and meeting notes on your computer.
On your computer, open a browser like Chrome and go to app.trymira.com.
Click Download. You’ll get a .dmg file for Mac or an .exe file for Windows.
On a Mac, open the download, drag MIRA into your Applications folder and open it. On Windows, run the .exe.
Sign in with Apple, using the same Apple Account as on your phone. Your sessions show up on the left.
Meeting notes on your computer
Click Listen in the desktop app to record your computer’s audio, so you get notes from Google Meet calls and anything else you hear on your computer, even when you’re not wearing your glasses.
You can also type and chat with MIRA’s AI in the desktop app. It’s the same AI you use on your phone.
MIRA Code
Connect Codex or Claude Code to your phone and glasses.
MIRA Code connects Codex and Claude Code on your computer to your phone and your glasses.
Set up the MIRA desktop app first.
In the desktop app, go through the sign-in flow with ChatGPT for Codex, then do the same with Claude for Claude Code.
In the MIRA app on your phone, tap Apps and open Mira Code under Tools. Pick Codex or Claude Code.
If the desktop app is set up and signed in, it connects automatically and shows Codex Connected. Confirm it in the desktop app, and you’ll see a green Codex Connected sign at the top of your glasses.
Not connected? In Mira Code, tap Retry connection, and make sure you’re signed in to the desktop app.
Build your own apps
Build custom apps for your glasses with the MIRA SDK and AI.
The MIRA SDK (software development kit) lets you build custom apps for your glasses. Apps can draw on the display and use the microphones, sessions, gestures and more, so you can create almost any experience you want.
Build an app with AI
In the MIRA app, tap Apps and open Build a Mira App.
Tap Instructions for making apps, then Copy full guide.
Paste the guide into Claude, Codex or Claude Code and describe your app, for example “Build me Pong for the MIRA glasses and use head movements to control it.”
You get back one HTML file. On Create a Mira app, paste or upload it, pick an icon, tap Check code, then Add.
Install it on your glasses. You can preview it on your glasses and your phone, and it stays in your apps for later.
The MIRA SDK docs walk you through every step, with the API reference and examples.
